Revisiting roots with the new Black Horse Pub Games Night!
Great soft launch of Pub Games Night, requested by members, with our new pub gaming event at The Black Horse, which saw a fantastic turnout of 15 members last month. The evening was filled with laughter, light-hearted competition, and plenty of opportunities to try out some of the more casual games from our ever-growing collection.
The idea behind this event is simple: create a more relaxed, social setting where Thame Games Club members can come together, get to know each other better, and enjoy a variety of games. It’s also an ideal option for those who can’t always attend our main Thursday games nights but still want to be part of the community.
Vice Chair, Alex Whitfield, who worked closely with The Black Horse to coordinate the event, said, “The pub gaming night went really well.” The Black Horse has generously offered us the use of their cosy side room, creating the perfect atmosphere for casual gaming and conversation.
This event is also a wonderful nod to the club’s origins, as Thame Games Club was originally founded in a pub. Bringing back pub-based gaming is a fitting tribute to those early days and a great way to boost the club’s visibility in town. In fact, several people at the pub enquired about the club, showing the potential to attract new members through these gatherings.
As word spreads and attendance grows, we expect this to become a very popular monthly event. However, space is limited to around 30 people, so booking is essential here on our events page. Don’t miss out—book your place for the next event.
So, for those who want a regular, relaxed night of gaming with friends old and new, The Black Horse Games Night is the perfect opportunity. Come along, bring a few small games, and enjoy an evening of fun, games, and good company!
